Online MBA vs Online BBA: which one actually fits you?

2026-09-20 · 6 min read · UniVerity.in editorial

If you have finished school, you cannot do an MBA yet. If you have a bachelor's degree, a BBA would be a step backwards. That sounds blunt, but it answers 90% of this question. The remaining 10% — fees, time, and outcomes — is below.

Who each degree is for

An online BBA is an undergraduate degree for students right after Class 12. It builds business fundamentals over three years and is the launchpad for an MBA later. An online MBA is a postgraduate degree for graduates — most learners are working professionals upgrading without quitting their jobs.

What they cost right now

Across the universities we track, online MBA total fees run from ₹160,000 to ₹300,000, while online BBA programs sit around ₹120,000 to ₹150,000. An MBA costs more per year but takes two years; a BBA costs less per year but runs three.

Eligibility and duration

BBA: 10+2 from a recognised board, typically three years. MBA: any bachelor's degree (some universities ask for 50% marks), typically two years.

Career outcomes

On our tracked programs, average MBA placements land between roughly ₹6.9L and ₹9.1L, while BBA outcomes cluster near ₹5–6L. Treat every placement claim as marketing until you ask how it is measured — our 7-point checklist shows you what to ask.
